Our outdoor works undergo continuous environmental observation rather than artificial chemical preservation. Natural precipitation, temperature variations, and surface oxidation reactivate raw metal alloys, producing distinctive mineral patinas recorded in comprehensive biannual conservation logs.
Each commission is structurally engineered to endure decades of direct maritime weather without physical breakdown. Curators document microscopic changes in surface depth, treating gradual environmental oxidation as an essential dimension of each artist's sculptural intent.
Physical mass outlasts spectacle
Mined granite blocks weighing up to twelve tons anchor the eastern courtyard alongside monumental cast bronze volumes. Here, sculptural mass commands attention through absolute permanence rather than temporary sensory displays or digital staging.

The outdoor East Terrace pavilion and subterranean monumental bays remain open Tuesday through Sunday. Access to the permanent outdoor sculpture collection is included with all general gallery admissions.
